TransferViewer
Wireless camera FTP photo transfer and review on Android.
Review photos while you shoot
TransferViewer receives images sent from a camera to an Android device using standard FTP over Wi-Fi. Use it to check focus and exposure, review JPEGs, select shots, and export a list of selected filenames without using a PC.
What you can do
Camera compatibility
TransferViewer can be used with cameras that support image transfer to a standard FTP server. Configure the camera to use standard FTP and passive mode. FTPS and SFTP are not supported.
Setup procedures and transfer timing may vary depending on the camera model, firmware, FTP settings, and network environment.
Models tested by TRES
Sony α1, α1 II, α9 III, and α7 V; Nikon Z8; Canon EOS R5, EOS R5 Mark II, and EOS-1D X Mark III; Fujifilm GFX100S II.
File formats and limitations
JPEG is the primary format for in-app review. RAW and HEIF/HEIC files can be received and saved, but they cannot be displayed in the app. Use JPEG when you need to review images during shooting.
FTP reception can continue while the app is in the background. However, Android power-management and Wi-Fi settings may interrupt reception. If no image is received in the background for one hour, the FTP server stops automatically. Long-running sessions also have an approximately six-hour limit.
TransferViewer is a photo transfer and review app. It does not provide camera remote control or live view.
Free and Pro versions
The free version supports up to two folders with up to 36 photos per folder. Pro removes these limits and is a one-time in-app purchase. The Japan price is JPY 3,500; Google Play may show a local-currency price depending on your region.
Both versions include the same main features. The difference is the folder and photo limits.
ChromeOS note
TransferViewer may run on ChromeOS devices. Performance and stability may vary depending on the device's specifications, available memory, Android runtime environment, image size, and power-management settings. Even if the app currently runs on a device, future updates may affect its performance or compatibility.
